Biography

Dr Gold is currently the Michael E Assey Professor of Medicine and Chief of Cardiology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Dr Gold was previously the Director of Electrophysiology and Professor of Medicine at the University of Maryland. He received a PhD in Physiology from the University of Virginia and an MD degree from the University of Colorado. His postgraduate medical training in Internal Medicine and Cardiology were at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School.

He is currently the President of the Association of Professors of Cardiology and President Elect of the Heart Rhythm Society. Dr. Gold is the Editor-in- Chief of Current Cardiology Risk Reports, an associate Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Heart Rhythm, a section Editor for Heart Rhythm and a senior editor for the Journal of the American College of Cardiology. He also serves on the Editorial Board of The American Journal of Cardiology, PACE, JACC EP, Journal of Cardiovascular Electrophysiology and Current Cardiology Reports. He has published over 200 peer reviewed manuscripts and more than 30 book chapters and reviews.
