Biography

Dr. Duray has completed his training in Cardiology in Budapest, Hungary. He joined the clinical electrophysiology team of the Cardiology Department at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University of Frankfurt, Germany, first as research fellow, later as senior consultant, responsible for the pacemaker and electrophysiology laboratory. After more than 5 years in Frankfurt, he joined the Cardiology department of the Military Hospital in Budapest, Hungary, as the head of the Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology unit.

His interest in invasive treatment of cardiac arrhythmias began more than 18 years ago, shortly after graduation at the Semmelweis University in Budapest. He gained a wide range experience in catheter ablations as well as cardiac pacing. He is certified by the European Heart Rhythm Association as specialist in Cardiac Pacing and ICD Therapy as well as in Invasive Cardiac Electrophysiology. He received a diploma as a European Cardiologist.

His enthusiasm in clinical research began in Frankfurt, more than a decade ago. During this period more than 45 articles have been published with his co- authorship, including publications in the Heart Rhythm, European Heart Journal and New England Journal of Medicine. Based on his contribution to clinical research in cardiology, he received a Ph.D title at the Semmelweis University in Budapest, and has been elected as a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology.

He is currently the president of the Arrhythmia Working group of the Hungarian Society of Cardiology, and member of several scientific associations.

In the last couple of years his main scientific interest focuses on the clinical application of the novel, leadless pacing technology, including implantation techniques, training strategies, and optimizing the follow-up.

His mission is to provide scientific, professional and organizational support for the treatment of patients suffering in cardiac arrhythmias in his homeland as well as in the whole globe.
